Update on Teal.

Hi all, it's Galen again.

First, thank you one and all. I didn't respond to all the comments. I just don't have it in me. There is a LOT more going on here than just having Teal in the hospital. It is very wearing on me. But thank you one and all for the posts.

Here is the current situation.

Teal has had a brain MRI and an EEG today. We are waiting to hear from the neurologist on what, if anything, was found. We should know sometime in the morning. With luck, she will be heading home after that.

Right now she is resting well, in good spirits and being taken care of.

That is about it. We don't know what caused the apparent seizure, or if it actually was a seizure (yea right). Beyond that, we don't know anything.

I'm now going to go fall over.

Oh yea, I have it on good authority that she does in fact have a brain :)

Don't even think about replying to comments!

Yes, there's got to be much more going on than you can say-I can only imagine. Glad you posted an update, and thank you!

Hope Teal will be home soon and that after that, you'll be able to unwind for the first time in these worrisome and marathon days.

Some 50% of people who have seizures only have them once in their life-and they can be caused by dehydration and fever.

Remember, no one expects you to reply to comments. Everyone is glad to hear Teal is doing okay.

Thank you, bless you, please take care of you. Hope tomorrow is an easier day.

Rest well!

It's always nice to have proof of brain. I have a friend who adds a clipping from her latest MRI to her resume, because surely employers like employees with brains.

My blood sugar was actually a bit high -- 220 I believe. All I'd eaten all day was some Jello and a bit of ginger ale, so that wasn't surprising. The conclusion was that it was most likely due to the illness. I did escape without a lumbar puncture; my pain was not localized to the spine or neck so it wasn't even suggested to me as a possibility.

It should be a one-shot deal.

... augh. OK. Sorry, having one of those "too many mental trains of thought have collided" moments where I have a thousand things to say, twenty seconds to say it in, and well, augh. I am glad to hear that this is going well, and hoping it continues that way!
