A satire that I had to share

"You're So Vain
(You Probably Think This Post is About You)"
Satirized by grynz

You read in my Live Journal
Something you didn't want to see
Assuming I was writing about you
When I was writing for me
Your temper started rising
And its target couldn't flee
When at the first chance you gave quite a lecture
Gave quite a lecture, and

You're so vain
You probably think this post is about you
You're so vain
I'll bet you think this post is about you
Don't you? Don't you?

My writings in my Journal are
Without direction
Yet you're "calender counting" just
To see how the numbers run
Cuz' god forbid the posted count
Don't match the number shown
I have to say that it doesn't seem healthy
Doesn't seem healthy, and

You're so vain
You probably think this post is about you
You're so vain
I'll bet you think this post is about you
Don't you? Don't you? Don't you?

I have to say that it doesn't seem healthy
Doesn't seem healthy, and

You're so vain
You probably think this post is about you
You're so vain
I'll bet you think this post is about you
Don't you? Don't you?

Well I have to say it's hard to feel
Safe posting what's on my mind
And it always seems to upset you
To hear about my time
And lord forbid my Gratitudes or
Posts don't mention you
Then yet again I am put on the defensive
Put on the defensive, and

You're so vain
You probably think this post is about you
You're so vain (so vain)
I'll bet you think this post is about you
Don't you? Don't you? Don't you?

You're so vain...
(You probably think this post is about you)

You're so vain...
(You probably think this post is about you)

You're so vain...

naaah,
venting is venting. and it is nice to have someone to vent to, rather than by yourself. More of a virtual support crowd.

It's beautiful :)

And like so much beauty, it is true!

Oh god ... and the worst part is I'm guilty of this. NOT often, but once or twice I've thought that.

{eek}

I think I'll copy down and put in the filk folder for MHC.

Just keep the credits.

I try real hard to assume if someone wants to say something about me, they'll mention my name, so I try to assume anything were an oblique "someone" is referred to is someone I don't know. Sometimes it works.

:-) The original is one of my favorite songs from way back. The parody is hilarious.

...confused me for the longest time. I finally figured out what it meant, and I guess that shows how far it is from something I would think of doing. LOL!

Hi
I saw your post in dot_sex_snark, checked out your journal; liked what I saw and added you.

Blessed be.

Re: Hi
Well, welcome! You do look interesting, and I'm willing to add you as soon as I've gotten acknowledgment of my usual disclaimer:

I'm not entirely sane. I rant, vent, and process in my journal, which is mostly friends only. If that's OK with you, then I'll add you to my friends list.

Re: Hi
Disclaimer received.

I consider sanity to be highly overrated. My therapist would agree, I am sure.

Ranting venting and processing ought to be required activities of daily living: they give evidence of both intellect and thought. Possession of academic credentials ALONE do not. As I write this please note that I am RACING to finish the assignments that are due last Friday for a course I travelled 3000 km to take of which I remember almost none of the lectures due to jet-lag.

Okay, technically I am avoiding racing to finish etc, etc.

It seems all the happiest polyamourists I know have the MMF combo going on: maybe THAT's what I've been doing wrong...food for thought.

Re: Hi
You're added. There's a lot you haven't seen; if you are bored you can go read some of my history over the past few months.

I don't know if it's MFM or IEI that's important, at least in a vee. My guys are both introverts, but I have enough extroversion for all of us.
